People don't seem to trust their senses over what they read online.

So tired of seeing this section of helmet wearing, padded wall, nerf society filled with home row, Vitamin D-eficient warriors draping their tender sensibilities in their rights to free speech and their perceived right to not be offended.

That's a reoccuring feeling toward large parts of society.  As a disclaimer; the purpose here IS to offend your soft, translucent view of yourself and your importance.  You aren't special.  You are not, for the most part, original.  You lack the uniqueness you so desperately cling to.  IF you consider yourself "Cream of the Crop" top %1 human being, there are 70 million others just like you.  Chances are, you're a knock off version of someone who blazed a trail well in advance of you.

Given the opportunity,  wagers should be taken on whether you (yes, YOU) wouldn't defend your beliefs face to face with another person WITHOUT A) Modifying them to some degree.  B) Emoting at a heightened level to which no progress is made and mutual frustration sets in, or C) Walking away from the stressor in disgust, all in (generously) 30 minutes.

How firm is the ground you stand on?  How deep are your convictions?  Are you blocking out information or experience that might upset your perceived comfort and tranquility?  Is your identity forged in the fires of hardship and struggle?  Is resistance your teacher or your plague to be avoided?
The truth of it all; of every individual question I just posed is as beautiful as it is ugly.  Nuance is an exciting discovery.

Are you willing to uncover new truths in your journey, or is walking the well worn path of blissful ignorance your chosen path?  Discovery must not be for everyone or we'd all be challenging our own concepts regularly against those opposite ours.

What is your, "Why"?  Are you comfortable defending it while others eyes scrutinize?  When the opposing idea clicks in your heart, are you strong enough to reflect on the basis of your, "Why" and, perhaps, move the hand forward?  Is "Human" not enough in common with you to respect another and lead with love?  Would you step out in an effor to understand?  People continue slicing up society into smaller, more exclusive and ever more entitled groups, building echo chambers which seem to reverberate hateful whispers into gross and dehumanizing roars of, "FUCK YOU!".

Different perspectives are embraced and challenged continually in this arena, and few things would be more fulfulling than ours to accept each other.

In Love and War,

You.
