Yes, I misled you, some of you again, with an enticing title. I apologize, but unfortunately, people respond to hype, so hype I will use. Read on, readers!
Day 3 of "The Shutdown" and there are glimmers of hope, (I am an idealist, ever hopeful, so...) From the Huffington Post; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/02/clean-funding-bill_n_4031784.html?utm_source=concierge&utm_medium=onsite&utm_campaign=sailthru%2Bslider%2B
"Less than two days after the government shut down, there are now more than 17 Republicans who say they're ready to pass a bill to fund the government with no strings attached, giving the House the votes it needs to pass a clean funding bill.
All 200 Democrats would need to stick together and team up with those Republicans to pass the bill, but House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) would have to be willing to put it to a vote, which so far he has given no indication he will do. But if he does, the votes appear to be there. The Senate would pass the bill in no time, sending it to be signed by President Barack Obama and ending the shutdown. Read the tally here to see who those House Republicans are, and why they say they're done with trying to force through provisions on Obamacare before agreeing to keep the government running."
Now, today, with republican support, this can end. IT CAN END! The only thing standing in the way is Boehner. This one man can end this. I don't imagine he will so soon after, essentially admitting he was wrong. I imagine he will continue to say that he is doing this in the best interest of the American people, as he's ignorantly trumpeted up to, and over, the edge.
I'm not an identifier of any side, my goal is to ease life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness for everyone, however small my impact may be, it be impact nonetheless. I am unaffiliated. I am American, Mexican, stubborn, critical, insightful, self-deprecating, shy, intelligent, observant, obstinate, and any number of other monikers and titles I accept and those that I reject. I agree with certain policies on both sides because, to me, they make sense and I see the benefit of them to all. I do, however, identify with the constitution. A lot. I took the time to do some research and found a few things I thought pertained to this shutdown business.
First, from our United States Constitution;
18 USC § 2383 - Rebellion or insurrection
Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Second;
18 USC § 2384 - Seditious conspiracy
If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

I'm frustrated. I'm tired. I'm angry. I'm dumb-founded. I do, however, believe in a better way.
From Ben Harper's Black Rain;
with your useless degrees
and your contrary statistics
this government business
is straight up sadistic
you don't fight for us
but expect us to die for you
you have no sympathy for us
still i cry for you
you may kill the revolutionary
but the revolution you can never bury
don't you dare speak to us
like we work for you
selling false hope like some new dope
we're addicted to
I'm not a desperate man
but these are desperate times at hand
